Immersed into the verdant countryside of the Pisa territory is charming Ghizzano di Peccioli, in a green oasis park.

It is a rural centre that still reveals the ancient original architecture. Something you cannot miss is the palace and villa of Counts Venerosi Pesciolini surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and the Pisan hills and a great Italian style garden. The notable chapel annexed to the rural church of St Gennaro preserves two stunning holy icons dating back to the XV century, of Pisan school, which portrait the Annunciation.

From Ghizzano, you will be able to do daily excursions to some of the most suggestive villages in Tuscany, like: Volterra, Lucca, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano as well as many lesser known hamlets like Peccioli, Montecatini, San Miniato, and Palaia. You can even opt for van transport to the ferry headed to the Island of Elba where to spend the day on bike or moped exploring this fantastic island.
