In the hamlet of Giungano, an annual festival is dedicated to the old way of Cilento's pizza, a delicious tradition!. Our grandmothers and great-grandmothers would use some of the weekly bread dough to make different types of pizza, with natural leavening and seasonal produce. That tradition is the star of an annual festival, baked in wood-fired ovens, of course, just like the old times.

But it's not just the pizza, in case you want more! There are other Cilento specialties to be enjoyed, like hand-made fusilli pasta, the acquasale (give it a try! It's fantastic!); melanzane imbottite (stuffed eggplant); and more. Add in music, dancing, shows and games, and you have yourself an evening of Cilento-style fun!

Giungano is in the hills above Paestum. The festival is held annually in the beginning of August. Check online for exact dates.
