In the Piazza San Marco, Venice's famous square, is a museum that holds art and cultural displays of the city's great artists. It is located in one of the palaces that form the long rows of arcades, a splendid sight. The so-called Napoleanic Wing was where the sovereign set up his reign in the early 1800s. In the former offices and residences are exhibits of various media to recount the history of the grand republic through art and interpretive displays.

In the Neoclassical Rooms you'll find the extraordinary sculptures of Antonio Canova, while the opulent Imperial Rooms documents Venice's long and storied history and her traditions. There are displays of coins, culture and life in the Most Serene Republic. The Pinacoteca (picture gallery) offers masterpieces like works by Paolo and Lorenzo Veneziano, Bellini, Vivarini, Carpaccio and many more Venetian and international artists.

The Correr Museum is open from 10:00 AM til 7:00 PM.
