The Chapel of the Lightening Brigade is an emotional and beautiful spot on the rocky coast of Castro Marina. The open-air chapel is flanked by arches and topped with a mission-style bell that are open to the sea view. It is a war monument dedicated to the brigata folgore, or lightening brigade, a troop of parachutists during WWII. The bronze soldier has his foot resting on a cannon which is pointed in the direction of El Alamein, which was a disastrous battle for the Italian forces.

The chapel is located at Punta Mucurune and is very picturesque and offers lovely panoramas.
