Capri Philosophical Park

A special place in Anacapri takes you away from the bustle and crowds and immerses you in a park designed for the soul. It's a park to rejuvenate among nature. The wooded Philosophical Park has shady paths where you can relax, breathe deep and contemplate calming words of wisdom.

The park is the creation of Swedish professor Gunnar Adler Karlsson who lives nearby and wanted to give a special gift to Capri and her visitors. There are three themed paths with placques along each bearing dual-language quotes from philosophers ranging from the 6th century BC to the 20th century. Choose the path of Realism, Idealism, or Wisdom, or wander all three! A few steps on from the park is the spectacular Belvedere Migliara with stunning views.

The Parco Filosofico is located outside Anacapri, about a 30 minute walk. From the piazza take Via Caposcuro, then via Migliara to the end of the lane. (Tip from the park: If you dine at the restaurant Da Gelsomina just across the street, they offer free shuttle service back to the piazza!)
