The Parco Archeologico Naturalistico in Manerba alongside Lake Garda is a pleasant combination of ancient history and nature. Situated above the lake, you'll take an interesting walk through epochs of time in one day.

Start at the glass-walled visitors center and the museum, where you'll discover the history, anthropology and geology of the area through interpretive displays and artifacts found in the area. There has been a human presence here since the mesolithic age, and the museum covers all the various chapters, along with naturalistic information on geography, flora and fauna.

Then hit the trail for a walk that gives you encompassing views of lake and takes you past the Medieval fortifications that conformed the contours of the hill, the ruins of a Roman villa and necropolis and to a spot where archeologists found traces of the mesolithic people who once lived here.

The trails meander through trees and nature, while giving you stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

The Parco Archeologico Naturalistico is open from 10:00 AM til 8:00 PM daily in the summer; in winter it is open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM til 6:00 PM.
