Arboreto di Arco Garden
Dubbed a "living botanical museum," this garden is an oasis on the north side of Lake Garda. The estate in Arco was once the residence of the Austrian nobility. The archduke Albert of Hapsburg built it when Arco became the imperial winter residence of the court.
The mild climate allows for a wide variety of plants from different zones, including subtropical plants and trees. In all, more than 200 species from all over the world are planted here in a lush splendor, making it a lovely park to wander and enjoy.
Some of the plants are Australian eucalyptus, sequoia, carob, yuccas, palms, Constantinople acacia, California cypress, and pau pau, to name just a few.
The arboretum is open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM from April through September; and from 9:00 AM til 4:00 PM from October through March.
