Aquarium of the Saleno

At the seaside village of Santa Maria al Bagno, you can get an up-close and interesting look at marine life in the Aquarium of the Salento. Here, with 17 tanks and displays on various marine environments, you'll learn about the delicate balance of the seas' ecosystems. The museum has a collaboration with the Greek island of Kefalonia.

Using videos, multimedia presentations and displays, they blend environmental education with the fascination of seeing the fauna to discover and appreciate the underwater world. Other exhibits highlight shipwrecks in the Ionian and Roman ships.
