Walking across the main square in Badia Agnano, passing through via Trento, you will reach the ancient Abbey, originally dedicated to St Maria.

The church is a brilliant example of Romanesque architecture, with the typical characteristics of this artistic style, that may be found even admiring other holy buildings in Valdarno and Casentino.

The abbey has a magnificent structure: a Latin cross navy, projecting transept and three well-separated apses. The imposing façade has an ox-eye window over the doorway, and walls made by rows of sandstone.
